State Advocacy Network

ACD has launched its new State Advocacy Network! This is a quick and easy way for members to access the latest legislative updates in all 50 states. State legislation is constantly evolving, and keeping up with these changes is critical as new policies can directly impact the chemical distribution industry, supply chains, compliance requirements, and business operations.

Every year, ACD tracks different key policy priorities that states are pursuing. This year, ACD will highlight legislation on food additives, PFAS, and environmental policies.

  • Food Additive Policy: ACD is monitoring state proposals that would restrict, redefine, or require disclosure of certain food additives. As states explore new limits and transparency requirements—and as the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement continues to influence the regulatory landscape—these policies may affect chemical sourcing, formulation decisions, and downstream supply chain responsibilities.
  • Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS): States continue to advance a broad range of PFAS-related legislation, including reporting mandates, product-specific restrictions, and comprehensive phase-outs across consumer and industrial applications. These efforts could introduce new compliance challenges and reshape how PFAS-containing materials are managed throughout the supply chain.
  • Environmental Policies: Environmental legislation remains a major area of activity in statehouses nationwide. Current proposals address emissions reduction, waste management, chemical handling, and sustainability standards. As states adopt new environmental frameworks, distributors may face updated operational requirements and expanded regulatory expectations.

We need your help to ensure this network remains accurate and up to date. If you are aware of legislative developments in your state that may affect your company, we encourage you to reach out and share those updates with us. Your insights help ACD monitor emerging issues and better advocate on behalf of our members.
