ACD Kicks Off 2024 ChemEdge Conference and Trade Show

Arlington, VA –Today, the Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) kicks off its annual ChemEdge Trade Show and Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. This three-day conference represents the nation’s leading chemical distribution operations and management conference and provides a forum for businesses to learn about the latest products and services, network with fellow industry professionals and supply chain partners, and to attend informative sessions from key industry leaders.

“ChemEdge offers a valuable opportunity for industry leaders to exchange unique perspectives and expertise that will drive our industry forward,” said ACD President and CEO, Eric R. Byer. “This week, distributors, manufacturers, warehouses, and service support companies will collaborate on industry best practices to navigate the ‘new normal’ of supply chain disruptions, high inflation, and regulatory challenges that are impacting businesses both small and large."

The theme of this year’s conference is “Collaborate, Educate, Elevate,” which will be reflected in the 15 educational training and informational panels.

Byer will host a session alongside ACD Senior Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Jennifer Gibson, leading attendees through the ever-changing legislative and regulatory landscape impacting chemical distribution professionals. They will discuss updates on rail reliability and safety, new chemical facility environmental and safety mandates, security, and more.

Other key sessions at the conference include:

• The Secrets to Positive Teams: This opening general session, hosted by ArriveAtHappy.com’s Tia Graham, inspires and educates leaders on the science of happiness at work. The program will share the research of positive organizations and the studies that prove positive teams grow companies faster.
• Best Practices and Available Resources for Securing Dangerous Chemicals: Led by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) chemical security team lead, Kelly Spade, this session will provide an overview of the ever-evolving threat landscape and share best practices in product stewardship and cyber hygiene. Participants will also learn about the range of no-cost services and tools CISA provides to help manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and consumers secure hazardous materials.
• The Case That Launched a Thousand 28(j)s: The Far-Reaching Consequences of the Supreme Court’s Recent Landmark Decision Overruling Chevron Deference: During this special and timely closing session, experienced appellate lawyer Kian Hudson will share his insights on the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn the Chevron doctrine and how this decision is likely to affect regulatory litigation, interactions with other recent administrative-law decisions, and other consequences the decision could have for the regulated community.
