Join Dr. Francesca Fasano, PhD, of Chemsafe USA Corp for a webinar presentation about the regulatory framework of ethanol, a chemical widely used in many different fields such as food, antimicrobial, detergent and household products, cosmetics, industrial products, fuel, and many more.
What is the regulatory framework of ethanol in the EU? Ethanol is subject to several regulations depending on its application. The agency to refer to in the EU can be ECHA or EFSA. Particular attention should be paid to the CLP Regulation and the proposal for harmonized classification currently under discussion. The outcome of the discussion will have a significant impact on many of the current ethanol applications.
What is the regulatory framework of ethanol in the US? In the US, depending on the application, ethanol falls under FDA or EPA scope. We will look at non-fuel uses of ethanol and see recent results. Although there is no discussion on the classification of ethanol in the US, there are some aspects to consider. The webinar will conclude with final advice and comparisons between the US and EU.
