Leadership of President Trump, Vice President Vance, Rep. Troy Nehls, and Rep. Chris Deluzio Critical to Strengthening Supply Chain
Arlington, VA –Today, Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) President and CEO Eric R. Byer released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure voted to incorporate the Railway Safety Act into the BUILD America 250 Act:
“Today’s vote represents an important bipartisan step toward strengthening the safety and reliability of America’s freight rail network and protecting the supply chains that manufacturers, distributors, and consumers depend on every day. From critical industrial inputs to everyday household goods, the safe and efficient movement of products by rail remains essential to the U.S. economy.
“ACD is especially grateful to Representatives Troy Nehls (R-TX) and Chris Deluzio (D-PA) for their leadership in championing these critical rail safety improvements and helping move this effort forward. We also commend President Trump and Vice President Vance for helping elevate the importance of rebuilding critical transportation networks and ensuring the United States has the infrastructure needed to support domestic production and long-term economic strength. President Trump has consistently emphasized the importance of restoring American industrial capacity, reducing supply chain vulnerabilities, and investing in the transportation systems that keep the U.S. economy moving. Today’s action by the Committee reflects that broader commitment to strengthening America’s infrastructure backbone and promoting safer, more reliable freight transportation.
“ACD and its members remain committed to working with the Trump Administration, Congress, regulators, labor representatives, and rail stakeholders to advance policies that protect communities, support American commerce, and strengthen the nation’s transportation network.”
Before the vote, ACD sent a letter to members of the Committee, urging them to support the Nehls-Deluzio-Van Drew-Titus-Bresnahan-Sykes amendment.
