I get it. You’re probably tired of me constantly pointing out how Congress can't seem to get things moving. But hey, anyone with a pulse can recognize the dysfunction happening on Capitol Hill.
We’re delighted to announce that registration is now officially open for our Annual Meeting! Please Join us in Amelia Island, Florida from November 6-9, 2023 for the chemical distribution event of the year. This year, you can expect all the usual news, analysis, and networking opportunities you’ve come to expect over the years and so much more!
Now more than ever, the chemical distribution industry is faced with greater expectations on how companies are meeting sustainability challenges and optimizing supply chain operations. Although chemical distribution is one of safest and most efficient industries, enhancing sustainability practices has become a greater focus among customers, stakeholders, and employees.
It’s no surprise that the last couple of years have been filled with economic challenge after challenge. During, and after, the pandemic, chemical distributors across the nation were tasked with navigating and recovering from some of the most difficult and unprecedented situations. However, based on current economic trends, it seems that we are finally approaching a sense of normalcy. Shipping costs are back down, trucking has capacity, and after chemical price inflation has moderated since last year, inflation growth rates appear to be slowing as well.
With the “Back to School” promotions appearing in stores, and students everywhere returning to the classroom, it serves as a timely reminder of the many educational and training opportunities that we at NACD offer our members.
Site visits have become an integral part of NACD’s advocacy efforts, providing member companies with the perfect opportunity to forge important, long-lasting relationships with those making the big decisions that affect their businesses.
Tank trucking is a vital part of the chemical industry. NACD members rely heavily on trucks, including tank trucks, to deliver critical products to their customers. As such, understanding how truckers operate and the challenges they face can help provide key insights into the chemical distribution industry.
NACD’s Northeast Region Meeting is heading to the historic Graduate Hotel in downtown Providence, Rhode Island from September 18-20, so be sure to book your place and join us for what is always a collaborative and empowering event.
The chemical industry is a vital part of the American economy. Chemicals are used in everything from the medicines that maintain our health to the treatment of our drinking water to the fuel for our vehicles, and even the microchips that run our smartphones. Since chemical distributors import, handle, distribute, and store these critical products, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has labeled our industry a critical infrastructure sector. The significant role of our industry comes with unique vulnerabilities that requires collaboration with government agencies, like CISA, to stay ahead of these ever-evolving cyber threats.
Throughout the year, the NACD team heads across the country to attend a number of key industry events hosted either by other trade associations or chemical companies themselves.
