Our members drive what we do here at ACD, and we are most effective in our joint advocacy work when we have the resources, information, and background on the members we serve and the challenges they face. Many might remember ACD’s annual membership survey. Up until a few years ago, we regularly asked our members to share data on their work, the size of their business, and the logistics involved in safely delivering the chemical products essential to everyday life.
So, why did we stop asking for this information, and why are we reintroducing this survey now? Member feedback made the answer clear. Previous versions of the survey often required highly specific data and were time-consuming to complete, which is why ACD paused the process several years ago. Since then, we’ve worked with industry and survey experts to redesign the questionnaire from the ground up – creating a more streamlined, practical experience that members can complete in significantly less time while still providing the critical insights needed to support effective industry advocacy.
One thing has become clear to us: The insights we collect from these surveys are priceless. It not only allows our Government Affairs team to effectively advocate for the industry by incorporating real-impact data in their comments and letters to lawmakers, it also informs media inquiries and regulatory and legislative reports. Ultimately, the better we know our members and industry, the better we advocate for you.
We refreshed our survey questions to ensure they are relevant and productive for the full membership, and we hired professionals to make this process easier for all and more confidential for you.
For the new and improved 2026 survey, ACD partnered with Psymetric Analytics, LLC, a company run by behavioral psychology and data analytics experts, to form streamlined surveys that not only make sense but are easier to fill out. With Psymetric in charge, ACD won’t be implementing the survey; the experts will.
This method has the bonus of providing an extra layer of protection, so you can be certain that the data you provide is anonymized, and other companies won’t have access to the information you provide for ACD. We hope that with easier completion and added layers of security and confidentiality, our members will have a seamless time completing this survey.
The 2026 survey focuses on clearer yes-or-no and range-based questions that capture the industry’s most important challenges and priorities without creating unnecessary burden for members. We’re also taking it a step further by explaining how each question and answer will be used in ACD’s work. For example, understanding the size and scale of member companies helps ACD advocate more effectively on behalf of the industry by demonstrating to regulators, lawmakers, and the media how proposed policies or operational challenges affect businesses differently depending on their size, resources, and role within the supply chain.
Later this week, we encourage all members to keep an eye out in your in-box for your company’s individualized survey link from Psymetric Analytics, LLC. To aid that delivery please “safe sender” psymetricanalytics@mailer.surveysparrow.info .
All members who submit data through this process will receive a final report to help them benchmark against industry averages. And as a special bonus, employees who contribute time to this effort can also select an incentive gift. The information we receive from this survey will help ACD advocate for your business and our industry, and we are thankful to our members for taking the time to complete it.
